Once it's installed directly into the server tier, the Lightning PCIe SSA offers low latency and provides fast, predictable response times. By alleviating I/O bottlenecks and adding PCIe bandwidth, the SSA enables faster workload transactions and increases overall systems savings. Additional speed comes from placing the SSA directly inside the server or workstation, preventing RAID controller delays that would occur on the storage tier.

If you work with important data, you know how flash memory can go super corrupt after rigorous usage. Especially without a software for wear leveling. With this solid state accelerator, it connects directly to the PCI express bus, so its much faster than sata, and secondly uses MLC flash memory which is far more reliable. Highly recommend.

Bought one of these accelerators for my gaming system, got the 200gb one instead though, its in the related products section.

The key difference I see in getting an accelerator card versus a solid state drive, there is less latency due to the fact that your skipping the RAID controller and the SATA controller all together, its going straight to the PCIe bus straight to the cpu.

Sandisk Lightening Solid State Accelerators are the best for speed and productive use. I picked up two, got one of the 200gb for one of my cloud servers and got the 400gb one for my workstation. There's so little latency is crazy. We're talkin in the milliseconds.
